I have decided that I will watch a different horror movie each day in October. Some old, some new, some I have seen before, and some that I have not. Here is where you will find a list of all the movies I have watched as well as a short review of said movie. They will be in no particular order that I am watching them. I’m not going to save the best for last or anything like that, just going down the list is all.
#1 Return to Sleepaway Camp (2008)
I own the first couple of Sleepaway Camp movies, actually in a box set. The first one wasn’t terrifying but the end I didn’t see coming. And the look on the kids face at the end actually was a little creepy. That was the first one, however, and now we are on part 5 (somehow I missed part 4 I guess) and everything is not what it used to be. This movie is bad, and not that “good bad” kinda way. The cast is annoying as hell. I actually found myself rooting for the killer. When your biggest name on the cover is Vincent “Big Pussy” Pastore you’ve already got issues. Oh, and casting Issac Hayes (RIP) as “The Chef” … seriously? The sound is terrible, the music is sometimes deafening, and the sound effects seem cheap and cheesy. I knew who the killer was as soon as they were on screen because the makeup was so bad. The death scenes were so long (in a bad way) that I was bored with them by the time the victim actually was offed. I can’t even really recommend this movie for fans of the series, it’s just that bad. What a way to start out this mega marathon!
