The Hills Have Eyes

This is a movie that has influenced many a movie that came out after it. Oddly enough I had never seen it before today.

#10 The Hills Have Eyes

Is there a name for these kinds of movies. I mean there are gore flicks, torture flicks, thrillers, chillers,  probably several more, but I don’t know what movies like this would be called. Desperation movies, stranded in the middle of no where with psychotic freaks that just want to eat you and wear your skin like a suit… movies. Anyway, this movie really set the tone for movies like Hostile and House of 1000 Corpses. I would suspect that back before I was desensitized to movies like this, it would have been pretty nerve racking wondering when and how the next victims would die. This one was pretty good actually. Other than the special effects being out dated, it still stands up over time. It did end rather abruptly, there was no stinger at the end either, which is unusual for a film like that. It’s another one that I would probably recommend that people see. Plus it’s nice to see what influenced so many current directors.
